Student Made Games
Our 6th-grade students have crafted an impressive collection of 89 games using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Each student created a GitHub account to store and publish their game repositories online, gaining hands-on experience with version control and web deployment. They also explored AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Gemini to assist with coding challenges and brainstorm game ideas. This project not only introduces them to new programming languages but also prepares them for the future of coding, where understanding the big picture—how small components like APIs, frameworks, and AI tools integrate—is becoming more vital than writing extensive code from scratch.
Next steps will include transforming their games into iOS and Android applications, with the potential to publish some on app stores. As AI and low-code platforms automate repetitive tasks, their ability to design, connect, and optimize these elements equips them with the adaptability and systems thinking needed to thrive in an evolving tech landscape.
