Mr. Bass brings a strong background in mathematics education, instructional leadership, and student achievement to Kūlia Academy.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Education in Teaching from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Prior to joining Kūlia Academy, Mr. Bass taught mathematics at Kapolei Charter School by Goodwill Hawaiʻi, where he incorporated technology-rich instruction, including tools such as Desmos, to strengthen student understanding and engagement. His teaching performance earned “Highly Effective” evaluations.

Mr. Bass also taught mathematics at James B. Castle High School, adding to his experience working with Hawaiʻi students across a range of mathematics courses and learning levels.

At Kūlia Academy, Mr. Bass teaches mathematics and helps students develop strong quantitative reasoning, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and perseverance skills. His approach emphasizes both conceptual understanding and the mathematical foundation students need for increasingly advanced coursework.
