ADNAN DOYURAN - BOARD MEMBER

Adnan Doyuran is Chief Academic Officer at Sonoran Schools. He worked as principal for more than 10 years at 3 different charter school organizations and have been working at Sonoran Science Academy Tucson since summer of 2013. Sonoran Science Academy is a premier STEM school in Tucson AZ, an A rated school since its inception, especially recognized at local, statewide and national Math, Science and Robotics competitions. His school won the World Championship in 2017 at FRC Robotics competition in Houston TX.
Prior to Sonoran Schools, he worked as Principal at a K-12 Charter School in Aurora, CO serving low income students for 5 years. During his leadership, enrollment went from 240 students (6-9th grades) to 775 by growing into High school and adding the Elementary School. The school ranked at the top level of performance by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) for 4 consecutive years. School received many awards in local and regional competitions such as Lego Robot, High School FTC Robotic, SimCity, History day and Foreign Language competitions.
He has expertise in Teacher effectiveness and Education Technology.
He received his PhD at SUNY at Stony Brook, Physics Department in 2000 and worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory and UCLA as a researcher for more than 4 years. He published about 30 articles in accelerator and laser technology areas. His current interest is to integrate science and technology into education.
